For Sale By Owner

The Konteka, a place located in the old mining community of White Pine, Michigan, is just six miles south of Lake Superior, twelve miles north of Lake Gogebic in Bergland and a few miles by sky to the infamous Porcupine Mountains.

The Konteka, over 22,000 square feet, is a one stop shop that a countless number of people have visited throughout the years for snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, waterfall seeking, fishing, fall colors, the black bears and more. A bar, restaurant, bowling alley, motel, gas station, convenience store and conference room all in one connected location, which has yielded better returns year after year of operating under the current owners’ tenure of 11 plus years.

Known for the black bear visits via the dining room areas far and wide not only across the country, but internationally, the Konteka is in a densely-traveled tourist area for all the seasonal travelers and provides and caters to all with the numerous amenities offered. It has been incredibly busy, even in the COVID times!! What more could a group of guests ask for then to have their lodging, food, fuel, DNR stickers, eight lane bowling alleys, a bar/lounge area, fuel and a convenience store all under one roof located so close to the wonders and wilderness of the Western UP?

There are 16 motel units all featuring two queen sized beds (recently updated in 2015) in each room with a hot tub and a sauna room located at the end of the motel section.

The restaurant can seat over 200 people for dining, banquets and weddings. The kitchen features numerous up-to-date, tested and certified cooking and cleaning equipment. In fact, the food safety manager classes have often been hosted in this kitchen. A separate conference room is used for private parties, special luncheons, learning venues, certifications for

various trainings and more. The bar area has a wooden dance floor with a huge aesthetic appeal above with the high-ceilings allowing light in during the day and providing a fantastic way for the New Year’s Eve balloon drop.

The bowling alley came in the TOP 10 bowling alleys to visit in the state of Michigan at number 8.

If you don’t like bowling, this would make an excellent area for an expansion to the ever-growing market of micro-brews – a huge, heated area with viewing windows for the brewing enthusiasts out there.

The gas station features an above-ground 3000-gallon tank that was put into service in 2008 and stays very busy since the neighboring gas stations are twelve to nineteen miles away.

The building itself is built to last. Mostly made of joisted masonry with steel trusses, the Konteka has had

numerous updates under the current owners’ tenure: featuring new roofs in 2016 with a transferable warranty, new energy-efficient: furnaces, boilers, A/C units, LP Smart-side Siding, electrical, water heaters, and much more.

If you’re looking for a wonderful opportunity, a great community of locals, a great community of weekenders all tucked into the wonders of the Western Upper Peninsula with Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains in the horizon, look no further because it can all be found in White Pine at the Konteka.
